Installing a heavy exterior light fixture on a high stucco wall requires extra attention to structural support and safety due to the combined weight and height .Due to the fixture’s weight and the wall’s height, particular attention was paid to ensuring robust structural support and adherence to safety protocols.
The weight of the heavy exterior light fixture was carefully assessed to determine the necessary level of structural reinforcement. Where stud placement alone was insufficient to support the fixture’s weight and mounting points, access holes were carefully cut into the high stucco wall.
A heavy-duty mounting plate, specifically rated for the fixture’s weight, was selected. The mounting plate was meticulously aligned with the pre-determined location and pilot holes drilled through the drywall and directly into the identified studs and installed blocking.
The power to the designated electrical circuit was completely shut off at the breaker box, and this was rigorously verified using a voltage tester. Due to the fixture’s significant weight and the elevated working height, a two-person lift was employed to safely maneuver and position the heavy exterior light fixture. Finally, he fixture was then lifted and firmly attached to the mounting hardware using the provided robust screws or bolts, ensuring all fasteners were tightened evenly and securely to eliminate any possibility of sagging or detachment.
